Opportunity to become the world's leading scientist involved in hovercraft design & manufacture.
Initially a three year contract working for Brighton University in conjunction with The British Hovercraft Company, based in Sandwich, Kent.
              
**Qualifications & Skills required**:
Minimum 2:1 BEng in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics, Design Engineering or another related Engineering degree, together with a higher degree reflecting the need for theoretical knowledge and research enquiry.
Grounding in theoretical and practical engineering: electronic systems design; design for manufacture/manufacturing systems; power management and control; systems engineering; Knowledge of simulation software/CAD; Knowledge of instrumentation and data analysis. Ideal: heavy current or electrical engineering; knowledge of powertrains.
Experience of carrying out practical work, have conducted relevant project work, placement and/or work experience which evidences application of some of the required skills.
Have the aptitude to apply research to a commercial scenario/ ambition and the ability to take ownership of challenging technical project/methodical/ project planning and management. Communicator/ relationships/ deliver training/ culture change/industrious /meet objectives deadlines with an appropriate level of supervision. Full valid UK driving licence.
