This weekend BHC took part in a mini HCGB cruise on Saturday and then Sunday we did some hard core Mudlarking over 40 miles and even found some unexploded anti aircraft shells…
On Saturday we had some new pilots who took part in their first cruise and they handled their new craft very well, Mr Rob McCourt and Adrian & Amanda Tomlinson got some idea of how much fun hovercraft really are. Now bitten by the hovercraft bug it’s all go with events being planned, upgrades being made and here’s to some hovercraft activity coming up!
On Sunday we joined The Hovercraft History Hunters and got down and dirty with some Mudlarking, a few early Victorian bottles, bones, some 1800’s pottery and even 3 unexploded anti aircraft shells!!! The shells were reported to the coastguard who in turn reported them to the navy who will over see their destruction.
According to our GPS app our total distance was 42.6 miles and also the top speed of the day was 41MPH! That’s pretty quick for a cruiser and the Beast XL still had plenty to give, even with 3 adults on board it had no problem with standing still starts on deep water and is a breeze to control
