Well, it’s no secret in the hovercraft community that we’ve been involved with BBC’s Top Gear ‘Hovervan’ project in the last few weeks. Obviously, we’ll say no more until the program airs, but if you watched the first show in the series, you’ll have noticed Jeremy Clarkson piloting a Marlin II. You’ll have to wait for the show to see what it’s all about but if you haven’t already got a ‘record’ set up for Top Gear (Sundays BBC2 9pm) then do it…! There’s already lots of videos and photos all over the internet as you’d expect – seeing as some of the show was shot in the middle of Stratford-upon-Avon!
I can promise you it’ll be well worth watching, although some members of the hovercraft community are bound to object to the portrayal of hovercraft by the show. So what! It’s loud, huge fun and as mad as you’d expect from the Top Gear team! It’s not meant to be serious, if you want a serious hovercraft – come and see us! If you want to see one of the most insane shows Top Gear have ever shot… watch TV!
