A rather different cruise this month as five craft from the South-East Hovercraft set out at 4pm to enjoy the sunset and stoke up a BBQ when we returned. We launched into the Swale and headed down to Harty Ferry. On the way back we had time to play in the gullies and banks that are all over the Swale & Medway (meaning some caution is required when on the mud!) and spotted some Seals sunning themselves on the mudflats — including a rare red one. Not a big cruise but loads of fun and everyone enjoyed themselves. The Mossies were out in spectacular force but the smoke from the BBQ’s kept them at bay!

Next stop is the Solent for a cruise on the back of the Southampton race meetings on the bank holiday weekend. We’re looking at doing an ‘overnight’ cruise in the area in September as well – throw a tent and sleeping bag in the craft, set off from Whitstable and camp overnight on one of the Medway Islands.
